How do I know my skin undertone?

Your tone is how light or deep your skin is; your undertone is the hue underneath, and it decides which colors brighten you. Do it near a window, without makeup.

  1. 1 · Jewelry. If gold brightens you, you are warm. If silver suits you better, cool. If both equally, neutral.
  2. 2 · Wrist veins. Greenish: warm. Blue or purple: cool. A mix of both: neutral.
  3. 3 · White or cream. Hold a pure white and a cream garment next to your face. If white flatters you, cool; if cream or ivory, warm.

How to read it: two or three matching answers mark your undertone. If they are split, you are neutral and almost any shade suits you.

Beyond undertone

Your contrast: hair, brows and skin.

Compare how dark your hair is against your skin. That contrast tells you how much presence your frame can have without stealing the show.

  • High contrast (dark hair, light or medium skin): Noir or deep Havana match that definition.
  • Medium contrast (brown hair, medium or tan skin): Havana, tortoiseshell and gold, or Noir for an accent.
  • Low contrast (light or blonde hair, fair skin): Pearl or Crystal won’t harden your features.
  • Grey or silver hair: Crystal and smoke grey look modern; black adds definition.

Color + shape

The complete pair.

Color decides how your glasses look; shape, how they balance your face. Pair your shade with the silhouette that flatters you.

Which glasses color suits me?

It depends on your undertone, your hair and how visible you want them. Warm undertones shine in tortoiseshell, brown and gold (Havana); cool ones in clear and grey (Crystal) or black (Noir); neutral undertones suit almost any shade. Our 4-question quiz tells you your shade and shows the Livor frames that match.

How do I know if my undertone is warm or cool?

In daylight, check which jewelry brightens you (gold: warm; silver: cool), the color of your wrist veins (greenish: warm; bluish: cool) and whether pure white (cool) or cream (warm) flatters you more.

Which glasses color suits olive or tan skin?

Tan and olive skin with a warm undertone looks great in tortoiseshell, brown and gold details, which bring out its natural glow. Black adds definition and goes with everything. At Livor: Lennox Havana, Lior Tortoiseshell, Lisse Brown or Livia Gold and black.

Which glasses color suits fair skin?

With light hair, soft shades like ivory, nude, champagne or clear won’t harden your features. With dark hair, black and tortoiseshell add elegant contrast.

Which glasses color goes with grey hair?

Clear and smoke-grey frames look modern and light with grey hair. If you want more presence, black frames your eyes.

What is the most versatile frame color?

Black, followed by tortoiseshell. Both go with almost any outfit and undertone. If it is your first pair and you want it to blend in, choose clear.

Can I wear a different shade from my quiz result?

Of course. The quiz is a starting point: the best color is the one that feels like you. You can also ask us for advice on WhatsApp with a photo.
